Providing registration information

About registration

Registration information indicates the ownership for the activation. Registration information includes:

• Registered company – For assigned entitlements, this is the same as the end customer. For unassigned entitlements, this is the company assigned to the machine selected as the activation machine.
• Group – The group to assign. The selected group also is assigned to the activated entitlements.
• Registered user – The specific user assigned to the activation. The user is added to the list of users associated with the machine.

Registration information is provided on the Register page of the Activate Entitlements process. If users need to provide registration information, then for machine activation, the page displays after users select the activation machine. For registration activation, the page displays after users select the entitlements to activate.

Providing the registration information

Setting the group

If you are permitted to change the group, then to select the group to assign to the activation, either:

• Select the group from the Group dropdown. For the dropdown, to not change the groups assigned to the selected entitlements, use the blank option.
• Click the find icon next to the Group field to search for and select the group

Whether the group selection displays as a dropdown or a field depends on the number of available groups.

To edit the selected group, click Edit Group. To create a new group to assign to the activation, click Add Group.

If any of the groups are assigned to the default group, which is a placeholder, then you must select or add a group.

When you select or add a group, it is assigned to all of the activated entitlements. If you do not activate the entire quantity for an entitlement, then the entitlement is split. A new entitlement is created for the activated quantity and is assigned to the new group. The original entitlement with the remaining available quantity keeps its original group.

Registered company information

The registered company information displays under Company Name. You cannot select a different registered company. To edit information about the company, click the Edit link.

Registered user information

To search for and select a different registered user, click the Change link under User Name. To edit information about the selected user, click the Edit link.

For machine activation, the user is added to the list of registered users associated with the machine.

For registration activation, the user is assigned to the registration certificate.

Registering a factory activated license during activation

You can register a factory activated license during the activation process.

To configure a product as factory activated, set the Machine name option to Auto searching for factory activated machine in the activation rule set.

Continuing the activation

After providing the registration information, click Next.

• For upgrade or upgradeable entitlements, the Upgrade page may display. See Providing upgrade information.

• For machine activation, or for registration activation that includes activation details, the Activate page of the Activate Entitlements process displays. See Providing activation details.

• For registration activation that does not require activation details, you complete the activation process.
