Transferring users

About Transferring Users

Single or multiple users belonging to the same company can be selected to transfer to another company.

Poetic transfers each selected user from the transfer from company to the transfer to company, and reassigns all entitlements and certificates linked to the transferred users to a primary contact of the transfer from company.When the transaction is complete, Poetic creates an event which is controlled by the background job PROCESS_TRANSFER_USERS.

Rules for transferring users

  • Only active users can be selected for transfer
  • You cannot select the primary contact user to transfer to another company.
  • The transfer to company must be the same company type as the transfer from company, for example, Publisher.

Selecting the users for transfer

From the Administration menu, click Companies and Users. To display a list of companies, on the Search Companies page, enter search criteria, then click Search Companies.

Select a company from the displayed companies.

From the Options dropdown, select Transfer Users. On the Transfer Users page, check the check boxes for the users you want to transfer.

Click Transfer Users. If you select the primary user, Poetic displays an error message.

On the Transfer Users Select page, in the Transfer to Company dropdown, type the transfer to company name, or use the search function to select the company.

Click Transfer Users. If you select a company type that is not the same as the transfer to company type, Poetic displays an error message.

Click Next. The Confirm page displays.

Confirming and completing the transfer

On the Confirm page you can view:

  • The transfer from company
  • The transfer to company
  • The number of users to be transferred

Add internal or external notes regarding the transaction.

To complete the transfer, click Finish.

On the Complete page, you can click on the Event ID link to view the status of the event used to process the transfer.
