About Poetic configuration files
Poetic includes several configuration files for functions such as:
- Web service integration
- Download integration
-
Customized code for:
- LAC generators
- Key generators
- POP validators

Plugin classes
The Poetic configuration file management function provides a single point for managing these files, including options to:
- Update the current version of the file
- View previous versions of the file
- Upload a new version of the file into Poetic
- Download a version of the file
Displaying the list of configuration files
To display the list of configuration files:
- On the Administration menu, click Site maintenance.
- On the Site Maintenance menu, click the Configuration tab.
- On the Configuration menu, click Configuration files. The files are in order by file name.
Displaying the Configuration File Maintenance page for a file
The Configuration File Maintenance page provides options to:
- Edit the current version of the file
- View previous versions of the file
To display the Configuration File Maintenance page for a file, click the Edit link for the file.
At the top of the page is the File Versions section, containing the list of versions of the file. The list includes the date and time the version was created.
Below the list of versions is the Edit Current Version section, containing the content of the current version of the file.
Updating the current version of the file
Loading a new version of the file
From the List Configuration Files page, to upload a file to replace the current version:
- Click the Options link for the file.

In the options list, click Load Updated File. The Load File form displays.
- In the File name field, provide the path and name for the new file. Click Browse to search for and select the file.
- Use the notes tab to enter any notes concerning this new file.

Click Load File. The content of the loaded file becomes the current version of the selected file.
To propagate the changes, on the List Configuration Files page, click Reset cache.
From the Configuration File Maintenance page
From the Configuration File Maintenance page, to update the current content of the file, you can either:
- Edit the content manually
- Click Load default values to replace the content with the default version of the file
Use the notes field to provide any notes concerning the updates.
To save the updates, click Save.
The page closes and the updated version becomes the current version. The version you edited becomes the most recent previous version.
To propagate the changes, on the List Configuration Files page, click Reset cache.
Viewing a previous version of the file
From the Configuration File Maintenance page, to view a previous version of the file, click the View link for that version. If you are editing the current version of the file, a warning displays to indicate that any of the edits you have made will be lost if you display a previous version.
When you view a previous version, the View Previous Version section for the selected version displays.
You cannot edit previous versions of the file, but you can copy content to paste into the current version of the file.
Downloading a file
From the List Configuration Files page
On the List Configuration Files page, to export the current version of the file:
- Click the Options link for the file.
- In the options list, click Download File. You are prompted to select the directory in which to save the file.
From the Configuration File Maintenance page
On the Configuration File Maintenance page, to download any version of the file, click the Download link for that version.
You are prompted to select the directory in which to save the file.
