About the download list

On the Downloads page, the lists of downloads can include:

  • Descriptions of each download
  • An option to include files you have already downloaded
  • Indicators to show whether you or another user has downloaded each file

Selecting how to organize the list

On the Suggested Downloads , Search by Download , and Search by Machine tabs, when the download list first displays, the downloads are grouped by download type (patches, software, etc.).

The values on the Search by Downloads results output page are sortable by column heading. Click on a column header to sort ascending, and then click again to sort descending.

Viewing descriptions of each download

When the list of downloads or download history first displays, only the download name and properties are displayed. If there is a longer description available, then a More… link displays. To display the description, click the More… link.

To view the descriptions for all of the downloads, from the toolbar, click Expand all.

To hide the description, click the Less… link.

To hide all of the descriptions, from the toolbar, click Collapse all.

If there is a more detailed description available, then at the end of the description is a More information… link. To display a pop-up window containing this detailed description, click the More information… link.

Showing items that you have downloaded

When the lists of available downloads first display, they only include downloads that you have not yet downloaded.

On the Search by Download and Search by Machine tabs, to include those downloads in the list, on the results toolbar, click Show previous downloads.

To hide those downloads again, click Hide previous downloads.
