About move counts
For machine activation, when an entitlement is activated, the activated item is assigned a number representing the number of times it can be moved to a different machine.
Each time the activated item is rehosted, the number is decremented. When the count reaches 0, the activated item can no longer be moved.
Poetic may also be configured to decrement the move count when an activated item is returned.
The Overview tab of the View Certificate page for machine certificates includes an option to update the move count for all of the activated items for a selected product line.
Editing the move count
On the View Certificate page, in the Activation Details section of the Overview tab:
- Click the Edit link next to the move count for the product line for which you want to edit the move counts.
- The Edit Move Count form lists each activated item and its current available move count.
- Edit the counts as needed.
- Provide any notes concerning this change. Having transaction notes helps later users understand the reason behind a change.
- Click Save.
