Overview tab

Machine Summary

The Machine Summary section provides general information about the machine or registration certificate, including:

  • Any notices concerning unauthorized, pending, or out-of-sync keys on the machine or registration certificate
  • The name of the machine or registration certificate
  • The target tags associated with the machine or registration certificate
  • The locking IDs associated with the machine
  • A list of survey questions configured in the activation rule set for the product

If this is an empty machine or registration certificate that has out-of-sync keys that need to be updated, then the Machine Summary section includes an Update Keys button. To update the keys, click the button.

How the Activation Details are organized

The activated items on the machine or registraton certificate are grouped by product line and activation type (permanent vs. evaluation). For each grouping, there is an associated list of family/version combinations on the machine or registration certificate for that product line and activation type. There are also notices to indicate whether any of the activated items have unauthorized, pending, or out-of-sync keys.

Summary and options for each product line and activation type

Each product line includes a summary of information for the activated items in that product line/activation type. The summary includes:

  • The target tags associated with the product line
  • For machine certificates, the lowest available move count for the activated items. If you can edit the move count for the activated items, an Edit link displays next to the count.See Adjusting the move count for activated items.
  • For machine certificates, the next expiration date associated with the activated items

If there are any upgradeable activated items for the product line/activation type, then there is a link to perform the upgrade. See Upgrading activated items.

There is also an Options list with options to:

  • Regenerate missing keys for that product line/activation type. See Regenerating missing keys.
  • Authorize activation for unauthorized keys

Family list for each product line and activation type

For each product line and activation type, there is a list of families. This list includes:

  • Family name
  • License version
  • Total quantity installed for the combination of family and version. The total quantity only includes quantities for activated items that have not expired.

Downloading files

In the list of product families/versions, if there are downloads available, then a Download link displays in the last column. Clicking the link displays the Search by Download tab of the Downloads page. See Finding available downloads for the selected company.

Displaying the details for a selected family and version

The last column of the product family/version list contains a View Detail link to display additional details. Clicking the link displays the Certificate Details tab with the activation details for the product family/version, including:

  • A summary of the entitlement and product. This list includes both expired and non-expired activated items.
  • The activated quantity
  • The start date for the activation
  • The expiration date for the activation
  • The last date for upgrading the activated item
  • For items on machine certificates, the number of times the activated item can be moved to a different machine

Ownership tab

Registered company

At the top of the tab is the registered company for this machine or registration certificate.

Groups

Below the registered company are the groups assigned to the activated items on this machine or registration certificate.

To manage the coordinators for a group, click the View Coordinators link. See Managing a company’s coordinators for details on the coordinator management functions.

Next to each group is the list of activated items associated with the group, including the product line, family, and total quantity.

Registered users

At the bottom of the tab is the list of registered users associated with this machine or registration certificate.

Keys tab

Information displayed for each key

  • The date the key was generated
  • The product line, if it was used to generate the key
  • The label associated with the key
  • The actual key, if the key is not a binary value. If the key is binary, then instead of the key text, an icon displays. Click the icon to download the key.

  • The Save to File hyperlink that lets you download a file with Activation Serial Number
    information.

  • The product line associated with this ASN.
  • The Activation Serial Number associated with the product line.

Components tab

The Components tab lists, by activation date and product line, the activation components and component quantities associated with this machine or registration certificate.

If the same component was used for both permanent and evaluation activation, then there are two entries, one with the evaluation quantity and another with the permanent quantity.

Depending on your security privileges, you may be able to add new components, edit components, or remove a component.

See Managing activated components for details.
