Poetic allows you to cancel orders that are no longer needed or that have errors that cannot be resolved.
You can only cancel orders with a status of Entry in Progress or Entry with Errors. You cannot cancel orders that have been processed.
To cancel an order:
- On the Order menu, click Edit order. The Edit Order page displays.
- In the Order # field, type number of the order you want to cancel.

Click the Edit Order button. The Parties tab of the Order Entry page displays.

Click the Cancel Order button. The Order Cancel page displays.
- From the Reason dropdown, select the reason for the cancellation.

If you are canceling a renewal order, then from the Entitlement options dropdown, select how to handle the deletion.
- If you are not dropping out of maintenance, and want to continue to receive renewal notifications and have the renewal orders regenerated with the dropped product, select Force renewal generation, send notifications.
- If you are permanently removing the dropped item, and do not want either to receive renewal notifications or to have the renewal orders regenerated, select Drop renewals, no regeneration.

If you are dropping out of maintenance, and do not want to receive renewal notifications, but do want the renewal orders regenerated in case you decide to renew later, select Force renewal generation, no notifications.

Click Submit. The Order Entry Complete page displays.
