Viewing the status of Poetic application servers

Displaying the Application Server Status form

On the Tools menu, to display the list of WebApps and BackApps, click Server status.

Information on the form

The Application Server Status form contains a list of the Poetic WebApps and BackApps.

The list includes:

Instance Name The name of the WebApp or BackApp instance.
Web Server Node ID For WebApps, the last two digits of the IP address for the associated Poetic Web Server. For BackApps, this column is empty.
BackApp If the instance is a BackApp, then this column displays “Yes”. For WebApps, this column is empty.
UI Resources Status

For WebApps, indicates whether the UI resource files are in the process of being updated.

  • If the status is “No update required”, then the resource files are up to date.
  • If the status is “UI resource refresh requested”, then the resource files need to be updated, but the WebApp has not yet copied the files from the File Share to the Poetic Web Server.
  • If the status is “UI resource refresh requested – files copied”, then the WebApp has copied the updated resource files from the File Share to the Poetic Web Server, but the Poetic Web Server has not yet refreshed the cache to update the files.

The column also contains the date that the resources were last updated.

For BackApps, this column is always empty.
List Values Status

Whether the list values are in the process of being refreshed. For WebApps, the list value refresh consists of creating list value resource files and copying them to the Poetic Web Server. BackApps simply update their cache.

  • If the status is “Updated”, then the list values are up to date.
  • If the status is “Refresh requested”, then a user has requested that the list values be refreshed, but the WebApp has not yet created the list value files or the BackApp has not refreshed its cache.
  • If the status is “Files created”, then the WebApp has created the files in its lib directory, but has not copied them to the Poetic Web Server. This status applies to WebApps only.
  • If the status is “Files copied” then the WebApp has copied the files to the Poetic Web Server. This status applies to WebApps only.

The column also contains the date and time that the list values were last refreshed.

To close the form, click Close.
