The following diagram provides an overview of how Poetic controls each user’s access to Poetic functionality:
The main elements of Poetic security are:
| Security role |
Each Poetic user is assigned a security role. The available roles are based on the company type for the company the user belongs to. See Adding and editing security roles and Adding and editing company types. |
| Security level | Each security role belongs to a security level. The security level is used to group the security roles and to assign default values for security settings. |
| Security setting |
Each security setting controls access to a single piece of Poetic functionality. For each security role, the security setting is turned on or off. |
| Report setting |
For Poetic Java reports, each column can be turned on or off for each security role. |
